Songs That Feature The Acoustic Guitar
It’s time to add some more memorable songs to go on a list of the best songs feature the guitar.
Guinevere – Crosby, Stills, Nash E. Regardless of how many members of the duo, the famous trio, quartet, or (depending on who you listen to them) their songs are amazing. However, in an attempt to gradually reduce the endless catalog created and these guys come up with the song better or more worthy to be almost impossible. So, instead of me hearing for a month or two, I went with Guinevere. This is a classic Crosby, Stills, Nash and (without Young). The vocal melody and gentle guitar work is what makes a great song. What also makes this a great song is easy listening and how it could open the door to new fans. Guinevere is a definite need for this list.
Where did you Sleep Last Night – Nirvana. Nirvana’s best known rock anthems and dirty, messy guitar work. However, behind the mask of apathy, hiding some amazing musical talent. And where do you sleep Last Night is proof positive of this. The song is as basic as it gets. Kurt Cobain was just playing acoustic guitar and sang verses gutterally incredible. This is an awesome version of the classic American folk songs and done in a way that Kurt Cobain could not do. That’s our question, worthy of the list of the best acoustic songs.
House of the Rising Sun – Animals. I have already mentioned several times through the list I was trying to stay away from the obvious choice. However, any list of the best acoustic songs would be incomplete if the House of the Rising Sun is not about him. He, along with maybe a smoke on the water usually is the first song that every student learns the guitar. You must select early classic that everyone knows, and people sing along with him. What I find amazing about this poem is the fact that most people probably do not know what the song about a brothel. I’ve heard a lot of young players guitar students playing and kind of makes me laugh, because that is impossible. Never less than the House of the rising sun makes my cut one of the best acoustic songs.
I know some might think that some of these songs are obvious choices, and perhaps they are. But when you look at the evolution of acoustic guitar music, that music play an important role and deserve to make a list.
