The Origins of Country Music

The origins of country music can be traced back to the 1920s. Many people especially those from outside the United States is often thought to be a new musical genre because of the emergence of young country music singers and groups like Taylor Swift and Lady Antebellum bring the genre back to life and introduced to the world again. For those interested in the history of music and many different genres, they must also interested in the history of country music to learn. Undoubtedly one of the most popular music genre in the United States today. It is even popular outside the United States, like Canada and Australia, like many American country singer and musician at the moment, has gained fame outside their own country.

A sub-genre of country music most popular in the 1930 and 1940, the Honky Tonk. These are usually identified by a heavy guitar, bass, drums, guitar and steel. At that time, the best country music’s most famous and perhaps “hero”, Al Dexter, an American musician and songwriter, who was called “Honky Tonk”. His first hit was “Honky Tonk Blues”. “Pistol packin ‘Mama”, one of the many hits Dexter, used as an alloy marched from the New York Yankees in 1943. Ernest Tubb, also known as the Texas Troubadour, is also considered a pioneer of the sub-genre. In fact, the advent of honky tonk with his biggest hit, “Walking Floor Over You”, released in 1941.

Other countries of sub-genre popular at the time was Western music. Western songs are usually about the ups and downs of daily life cowboy. This style was popularized by the likes of Son of Pioneers and Gene Autry, and was identified by the use of stringed instruments (like violins and bass) and harmonica.

As the genre evolved over the decades, was more sub-genre created, like the soul of country, rockabilly, country and alternative. Today, country music includes pieces from other genres so it is not surprising that so many different sounds of what used to back in the old days. By studying its short history, people will be able to appreciate it even more because the genre has inspired so many great musicians today the best music of the people listening to manufacture, love, enjoyment, and worship.
